Why did Shari Doherty want to become a Career Mentor with KEYS?

"I want to give back to our community and to our young adults who are ambitious and passionate. It is a good investment in the future of our community and our society. I want to pass along my acquired wisdom and help a young person jump start their career.” 

These sentiments are echoed repeatedly by volunteers throughout KEYS’ four mentoring programs. Shari is enjoying providing guidance and the benefit of her experience to her mentee Abdel, a recent Queen’s graduate seeking his first career position. Working with Shari is helping Abdel build his confidence and increase his awareness of all of the options out there for him: “I am learning so much from Shari. This program has opened my eyes to other career opportunities that I had never even considered”, says Abdel."
